Worcester Male Voice Choir teams up for cathedral concert

IT’S two for the price of one when it comes to male voice choirs at Worcester Cathedral.

Worcester Male Voice Choir is joining forces with Monmouth Male Voice Choir for a night of songs to stir the soul at the cathedral’s College Hall on Saturday September 27.

‘Songs Across the Marches’ will showcase the broad and deep range of male voice choir musical styles, from the deeply resonant traditional, to passionate modern classics.

The concert will feature a set of songs from each choir separately, followed by the two coming together to deliver the evocative and powerful experience for which these long established and prize-winning male voice choirs are renowned.

This concert will delight lovers of male voice choirs’ unique choral sound, as well as being a thoroughly enjoyable evening for those that haven’t yet experienced the stirring live sound of a male voice choir.

This will all be delivered in the magnificent historic setting and excellent acoustics of College Hall at Worcester Cathedral.

Worcester Male Voice Choir chairman Graham Heath said: “We are delighted to be welcoming Monmouth Male Voice Choir to Worcester for our ‘Songs Across the Marches’ concert. The night will give people the chance to enjoy not one but two established, renowned and prize-winning male voice choirs. Both choirs are registered charities and pride themselves on raising money for other charities through their concerts and performances.”

Musical director Scott Woolfenden added: “College Hall is a wonderful place to perform. The historic surroundings provide excellent acoustics and the audience will be treated to the fantastic sound that the two choirs can deliver. It really will be a night not to miss.”
