Worcester eye care clinic looks back on a year of charity challenges

COMMUNITY-conscious colleagues at a sight-saving eyecare clinic in Worcester raised nearly £7,000 for good causes ahead of Christmas.

The team at Newmedica Worcester has undertaken a wide range of sponsored events for life-changing charities – including St Richard’s Hospice, which received £4,585.23.

Another local charity to benefit from the eye clinic’s energetic efforts is Sensory Matters Worcestershire, which was given £1,345.29.

Josh Raden, Newmedica Worcester’s operational director, said: “We are so proud to have raised an amazing £6,740.30 for charity this year.

“From bake sales and charity runs to epic cycling challenges, our team showed true spirit and commitment to making a difference for some incredible charities.

“A huge thank you to everyone who participated, donated and supported these fantastic causes.”

Newmedica Worcester operates from the Berkeley Business Park and provides care for NHS and private patients while assisting the NHS in reducing its waiting lists.

The clinic offers a range of ophthalmology services such as cataract and eyelid surgery, as well as YAG laser treatment, which is a method for treating some cases of glaucoma and rare instances when cloudiness occurs following cataracts surgery.

Other good causes to receive funds from Newmedica Worcester are Alzheimer’s Society (£542.78), Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity (£222) and Guide Dogs (£45.00).

But Josh said that the team members aren’t resting on their laurels after all this fundraising success, with a hugely ambitious event already planned for a few months’ time.

He added: “Now, as we wrap up the year, we turn our focus to an even bigger and better 2026 fundraising calendar. Stay tuned for what’s next.”
