Worcester children's charity gets cash boost

A CHILDREN’S charity has received a £1,000 donation thanks to a kind hearted finance worker.

Emma Line is a senior finance manager for a housing and care provider, Sanctuary Homes, and won a £500 at a recent housing conference which she decided to donate to KidzPlay and her employer matched the funds.

The organisation is run by the Worcester Community Trust and supports children and their families during the school holidays with free educational activities. The money raised will go toward healthy lunches for the children taking part.

Emma said: “KidzPlay is a fantastic scheme in Worcester and when I visited I could see how much the children loved being there. It is great to know this money will be used by the charity to continue to support children in the local area.”

Sally Wyatt, play development manager at kidzPlay, said: “We are really grateful to Emma for thinking of us and helping us to make sure that the children get a healthy lunch when they are here.

“Our experience is that they often come to our play days without anything eat and that has an effect on their behaviour as well as their health, so this donation will really help us support them further.”
