A WORCESTER independent bookshop and community hub will celebrate its first birthday on Monday (August, 5), with various offers and a launch.
Script Haven on the High Street has recently received its blue plaque, commemorating Charles Dickens visit in 1858.
It was voted the third best independent bookshop in the UK by The Times readers within the first five months of opening.
Script Haven hosts boo launches, poetry nights, esoteric events and workshops.
Owner, Leena Batchelor, said “It’s difficult to put into words how much the love and engagement for the shop has meant.
“I had hoped to achieve the status we are enjoying now in about two years of opening; our growth has been phenomenal and much quicker than expected.
“It shows just how much bookshops belong in and offer to the heart of the community.”
Leena is launching her sixth book, Arcadia – a Pictish Paradise on the anniversary.
