WORCESTER artists are among those taking part in the county’s largest free annual arts event.
In all 34 artists and creators based in the city will be taking part in this year’s Worcestershire Open Studios event by welcoming visitors into their studios, giving them behind the scenes access into their creative spaces and processes.
This years event has more studios to visit than ever before with 128 artists showcasing their paintings, sculptures, prints, jewellery, ceramics, photographs, textiles and woodwork across 97 studios from August 19-28.
Worcester creatives featuring include water colour painter, Kirstie Trobe, photographer Derek Gale, acrylic fluid artist Felicity Osborne, 2D and 3D visual artist Claire Hilton, fine artist and illustrator Jantil Moon, glass work and print maker Frans Wesselman among dozens more.
Other creative art forms to be showcased in Worcester as part of the open studios event include ceramics, oil painting, digital art, sign painting and more.
Felicity Osborne said: “After discovering, learning and perfecting techniques in fluid art, I found my niche and am producing exciting results.
“No two pieces can ever be the same due to the methods of making. During Worcestershire Open Studios expect to see canvases of all sizes, colours and styles.
“A video demonstration of how my paintings are created will be running throughout the event.”
All of the artists are excited to open their doors, to meet and chat with visitors about their art and how it’s made.
Richard Nicholls of Worcestershire Open Studios described the event as an ‘excellent opportunity’ to see the talent on their doorstep.
