Witness plea after two tried to enter Worcester property

Worcester Editorial 14th Apr, 2016 Updated: 19th Oct, 2016   0

WITNESSES are being sought after two men tried to gain access to a property in Worcester by claiming they had been sent by a housing association to carry out repairs.

The incident occurred on the morning of Thursday, April 7 when the men knocked on the door of a property on Moor Street and told the occupier they had been sent by Fortis Living to repair the boiler.

The occupier answered the door but left the chain on and refused to let the two men into the property and said she knew nothing about a boiler repair and wasn’t expecting anyone from Fortis to visit.

Fortis Housing has confirmed that the two men had not been sent by them.

The two men have been described as white. One was wearing a red jacket, while the other was short and wearing a black woolly hat, a short black coat and blue jeans. They were also carrying a bucket and trowel.

It’s believed the two men knocked on other doors in the area.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident is urged to contact police on 101 quoting incident number 0282S 070416.
