When to put your bins out this Christmas in Worcester

Worcester Editorial 23rd Dec, 2020   0

SOME bin collections in Worcester will run later than usual over Christmas and New Year.

City Council staff will be working on different days to make sure everyone’s bins are emptied.

Residents whose bins are collected on Fridays are being asked to put a date in their diaries to make sure they don’t miss their collection.

The normal Friday collection this week will be pushed back until Monday (December 28) while the scheduled collection on New Year’s Day will take place next Saturday (January 2).

Large cardboard boxes, Christmas cards without glitter and wrapping paper – not foil or glitter paper – can all be recycled. Tin foil and tinsel should go into the black bins.

The normal collection schedule resumes on Tuesday, January 5 alongside the bulky household collections which will not take place next week. Visit www.worcester.gov.uk/bulky-household-waste for more.

Businesses have been advised their commercial waste collections on Friday (Christmas Day) will take place on Monday (December 28) and the scheduled New Year’s Day collection will be take place on January 2.
