A GROUP of men carrying a tyre iron, baseball bat and a knife broke into a property on Cranham Drive, Warndon.

The group of four or five men forced their way into the house between 4pm and 4.30pm on Friday, June 17 and a struggle took place between the home owners and the group of men.

A 53-year-old woman suffered an injury to her elbow and was taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital for treatment. A 30-year-old man was also taken to the same hospital for a cut to his elbow. Another 30-year-old man suffered a cut to his thumb but did not require further treatment.

Police only have descriptions of two of the men involved in the burglary. The first man is believed to be mixed race and in his mid-thirties. He is believed to be 6ft tall, of stocky build and has short hair.

The other man is described as black and around 6ft tall. He is also believed to be of a stocky build. He wore his hair in loose dreadlocks to just below his ears and had a goatee beard with moustache.

Nothing was stolen from the property. It’s believed the group of men left the scene on foot in the direction of Tetbury Drive.

Det Sgt Christopher Percival, who is leading the investigation, said: “First and foremost I want to reassure the community that we are conducting a thorough investigation into this incident. Likewise, there is nothing to suggest that there is a threat to the wider public. To offer reassurance to the community there have been increased patrols in the area.
