BURGLARS wielding knuckle dusters and wooden planks forced their way into a city home and subjected a middle aged man to a terrifying assault.
The crooks entered the house in Hemsby Close, Battenhall, last Tuesday (December 16) at 5.10pm and spent 20 minutes threatening the owner and demanding he hand over various items.
Once the 46-year-old victim had given the trio what they wanted, including his car keys, watch and leather wallet with cash and cards inside, one of the men assaulted him.
The attack left him with slight injuries which required treatment at Worcestershire Royal Hospital.
All of the men then fled the house at 5.30pm and ran off in an unknown direction.
The first suspect is described by police as about 6ft in height and of a slim build.
He was wearing dark clothing and carrying a light coloured piece of wood.
The second burglar is described as being shorter than the first, also of slim build, wearing dark clothing with his face covered.
He also had a copper coloured knuckle duster on his right hand.
The third suspect is described as being of a similar height and build to the second and also wore dark coloured clothing.
A spokeswoman from West Mercia Police said: “This was a very frightening experience, where the victim was targeted at home by three unknown men.
“We are continuing with our enquiries to identify and trace the offenders.”
Anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area around the time of the aggravated burglary is urged to contact West Mercia Police on the non-emergency number 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
