Warning to motorists after thefts from vehicles in areas of Worcester

Worcester Editorial 20th May, 2024 Updated: 20th May, 2024   0

A WARNING has gone out to motorists in several areas of Worcester after a spate of thefts from vehicles.

Thieves have struck in the Battenhall, Nunnery and Ronkswood areas, leading to multiple reports to West Mercia Police.

Cars targeted have been parked on driveways or on the street.

Vehicles have been left unlocked and the unknown person entered them, taking valuables including purses, wallets, electronic items, clothing and cash.

Officers are warning drivers to ensure their cars and vans are locked when they leave them.

The thief will try door handles and police say, if they are locked, will move on to the next one.

Motorists are also urged to remove all valuables from vehicles to reduce the temptation of opportunist thieves.

Witnesses or anyone with information on the thefts should call police on 101 or go to westmercia.police.uk and report it there.
