A VIGIL in memory of murdered Brianna Ghey will be held outside the Guildhall in Worcester.

Staff from Sugar Daddy’s Café have organised the event on Sunday (February 19) from 6pm in memory of the 16-year-old who was stabbed to death in a park.

The teenage trans girl was found wounded in Linear Park in Culcheth, Warrington, on Saturday (February 11).

A boy and girl, both aged 15, appeared at Liverpool Crown Court on Thursday charged with her murder. A trial will take place from Monday, July 10

Worcester’s LGBTQ+ café and community space in Trinity Passage has delivered a rallying call for the community to come together and pay their respects.

“We need to come together and show support for our Trans family more than ever with the current political climate,” the post on Facebook.

“Wrap up warm, bring friends and face masks.”

Cheshire Police said Brianna’s family, who described her as ‘strong, fearless and one of a kind’, had been ‘overwhelmed by the messages of support, positivity and the compassion across the country and beyond’.

A fund-raising page set up to support Brianna’s family has raised more than £100,000.
