STUDENTS from Bishop Perowne CE College showed off their talents during the school’s annual Bishop’s Got Talent competition.

A total of 20 acts from Years 7 to 10 took part in the show with performances ranging from singing and tap-dancing, to comedy and magic, as well as a hard-fought rap battle between staff.

Taking on the role of judges were headteacher Mark Pollard, deputy headteacher Jane Price and the school’s catering manager Rachel Price.

Bishop Perowne’s very own Ant and Dec, deputy headteacher Nigel Ford and assistant headteacher Scott Reeves, took on the job of hosting the competition.

All students who took part received medals and house points, but a Year 8 choir were named as the overall winners of the Year 7 and 8 show, with Mollie Hurd placed second and Fraser Lewington named third. Rosie Careswell and Isabel Wharton were named second, and the English as an Additional Language singing group came third.

Mr Pollard said: “All our students have worked extremely hard during the first term of the school year and, as well as being a fun way of bringing the previous term to a close, Bishop’s Got Talent allows students to showcase their talent and perform in front of their peers.

“We were extremely impressed with everyone who was part of the show and it highlighted how dedicated the students are to their extra-curricular activities. It was certainly difficult to decide on the winners, but congratulations to Lydia and the Year 8 choir.”
