Unsung heroes sought for 2020 Tryangle Awards

Worcester Editorial 7th Jan, 2020   0

A CALL has gone out for nominations for the 2020 Tryangle Awards organised by Worcestershire charity Young Solutions.

The Awards, which culminate in a presentation evening at Worcester Bosch in March 2020, are a chance to highlight the efforts and achievements of the county’s young people, the unsung heroes who show real commitment and resolve; and those who get on with things without making a fuss.

Previous Award recipients include a young person who had volunteered at a sports club while another went to a young lady who helped younger dancers at a dance school and one young woman received an award for being a dedicated carer of her younger brothers and sisters.

Nominations can come from teachers, social workers, youth workers, police officers, health professionals, parents, friends and anyone wants to say ‘well done’ to a young person.

The Tryangle Awards particularly welcomes nominations for young people aged 11 – 19 (or up to 24 years with a disability) who have had to overcome personal, health or other difficulties. In the past Award recipients have included young people who have been homeless or unemployed or have experienced problems with their own health or a close family member with health difficulties.

There are six Award Categories for individual young people or groups of young people: Bravery, Arts or Music, Good Friends and Carers, Citizenship and Environment, Sports and Personal Development.

The Awards are now in their 15th year and candidates must either live or volunteer in Worcestershire.

There’s also an adult volunteer award for outstanding contribution to their club, community or organisation.

Nominations close on Sunday, February 23 – for more details visit www.youngsolutions.org.uk/tryangle-awards.
