Two new best start nurseries launch in Worcester

TWO nurseries in Worcester are among the next tranche of schools to be given Best Start Nursery funding.

Nationally the new Best Start nurseries will create over 6,000 more childcare places, on top of the up to 7,000 already being delivered from the first phase of the programme.

Oldbury Park Primary School in St Johns, and Cranham Primary School in Warndon are part of the expansion.

It is hope the new places will help support families with the cost of living and help parents and carers to balance work and family life.

City MP Tom Collins said: “I’m really pleased that families in Worcester are going to benefit from the expansion of nursery care capacity in the city.”

“Our local schools have stepped up to offer more support for pre-school children and it’s good to see this government backing them.”

“There is much more that we need to do to support families – especially bringing back Family Hubs, which anyone who remembers SureStart will really recognise.”
