Four seriously hurt in M5 crash between Worcester and Evesham

A BABY, a toddler and two adults have been injured after a serious crash on the M5 involving the car they were in and two lorries.

The incident happened at 1.15am on the northbound carriageway between Junction 7 (Evesham) and Junction 6 (Worcester).

The four-month-old boy and a two year old girl both suffered serious injuries in the crash.  The two-year-old was trapped in the car for about 50 minutes until she was freed.

Both received emergency treatment at the scene before being taken by ambulance to Birmingham Children’s Hospital.




Because of the severity of their injuries, the hospital was pre-alerted about their conditions.

The woman, who was in her 20s, suffered serious neck and pelvic injuries and the man, who was also in his 20s, suffered multiple minor injuries.


Both received treatment at the scene before being taken to the Worcestershire Royal Hospital for further treatment.

 “The two lorry drivers were checked over by ambulance crews but did not require further treatment and were discharged at the scene.”

A West Midlands Ambulance spokesperson said four ambulances, a paramedic officer and two BASICS Doctors were sent to the scene.
