Trust in call to nominate your NHS hero for top award

Worcester Editorial 6th Apr, 2021   0

AFTER the most challenging year in the history of the NHS, the public are being asked to help celebrate the hospital nurses, midwives, doctors or other staff and volunteers who have left a lasting impression on them, by nominating them for an award.

The ‘Patients’ Choice Award’ from Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, will recognise a member of hospital staff from the Alexandra, Kidderminster or Worcestershire Royal Hospitals who has gone the extra mile in patient care.

The award is part of the Trust’s Staff Recognition Awards – which are generously sponsored by local businesses – celebrating some of the remarkable achievements of colleagues from across Worcestershire’s hospitals.

The winning nominee will be presented with their award at a ceremony on Friday, July 9, alongside winners in 16 other categories recognising individuals and teams who have demonstrated exemplary patient care or gone to extraordinary lengths to put patients first during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Anna Sterckx, head of patient, carer and public engagement at the hospitals, said: “Our staff and volunteers have been truly amazing, especially over the last year throughout the pandemic, and we know that our patients think this too!

“This is a really great opportunity for patients to show their appreciation for a particular member of staff or volunteer who has gone that extra mile.”

To nominate someone visit www.worcsacute.nhs.uk/hero or email your nominations to: [email protected] stating the name of the member of staff, where they work, and your contact details. The closing date is Monday, April 26.
