Trio of city parks up for national award

Worcester Editorial 19th Oct, 2017   0

A RALLYING call has gone out to Worcester residents to make their voices heard and help three of the city’s park scoop a top national honour.

Fort Royal Park, Gheluvelt Park and the Diglis Field and Cherry Orchard Nature Reserve are in the running for the title of ‘UK’s Best Park: As Voted by You.’ The three parks were nominated by city residents as part of the UK wide competition organised by Fields in Trust.

Voting is now open and council chiefs hope as many residents as possible vote for Worcester’s award-winning parks.

The winner of the competition will be revealed at the Fields in Trust awards ceremony at Lord’s Cricket Ground on Wednesday, November 29.

Visit www.fieldsintrust.org/bestpark/westmidlands to vote. Voting closes at 5pm on Friday, November 3.
