A WORCESTER care home’s first resident has had the honour of cutting the ribbon to the home’s brand new suite.

Perry Manor’s first resident Tom Morris, officially opened the home’s new Elgar Suite on Thursday October, 8, which will provide much needed care for 21 residents.

Perry Manor staff welcomed families, friends and people from across the city into the care home on Charles Hastings Way to celebrate the unveiling, where visitors had the opportunity to view the state-of-the-art suite.

The home encompasses its own cinema and hairdressing salon, and provides a range of full-time, nursing and dementia care to enable its residents to live enjoyable and fulfilling lives.

A special photography exhibition was also held to celebrate the opening of the Elgar Suite by resident David Stratford, who has had a passion for taking photos of wildlife since moving to Perry Manor, using the care home’s gardens to capture his talent.

Manager Mike Dearn said: “As with everything we do at Perry Manor, our residents and their families were at the heart of the event to commemorate the opening of the Elgar Suite, and we were delighted to welcome so many visitors to the care home.

“We’re really proud of the warm and welcoming environment we’ve created at Perry Manor and it’s great we are now in a position to open the next area of the home.”
