MEMBERS of a Worcester theatrical group have visited city youngsters who care for parents and siblings with illnesses or disabilities.

Worcester Operatic and Dramatic Society’s Youth Section (WODYS) recently took a break from rehearsing to visit children supported by Worcestershire Young Carers, at Perdiswell Young People’s Leisure Club.

The young carers, who are WODYS’ chosen charity for 2016, enjoyed a variety of games including pool, dancing and a bouncy castle.

David Humphries, WODYS’ chairman said: “I feel our group is very fortunate in being able to perform a musical each year at the city’s Swan Theatre.

“This is why we’re very pleased to provide an opportunity for the public to help Worcestershire Young Carers”

The 67 members of WODYS will perform six performances of Les Misérables from Tuesday, August 2 to Saturday, August 6.

Proceeds of the interval raffles will go to Worcestershire Young Carers.
