PERFORMERS are ready to entertain at this weekend’s Worcester Show.
The family event on Sunday (August 10) promises to be a full day of music, culture and entertainment.
From community competitions to games and sports demonstrations, the show site will be packed full of activities from 10am until 5pm – with a community procession starting proceedings at 10.30am.
This year, the main stage is being rebranded as the BBC Hereford and Worcester stage. It will host a vibrant and eclectic mix of live performances including Hannah Mac, Paurosi, Sheddy Maria, Chalky Martin, DJ Ed Steelfox with his crowd-pleasing 90s set, and Huron.
Elsewhere at the show, the BBC Introducing and BBC Upload Stage will shine a spotlight on emerging and unsigned local talent – giving the stars of tomorrow a platform to perform.
Returning for a third year, Worcester Mela will bring a cultural feast for the senses.
The Mela Stage will host a rich programme of music and dance, including performances by Awantika, Malayali Dancers and Tariq Saher.
AAJA Nachle Let’s Dance and Sharma and Jimmy will perform on both the main stage and the Mela stage during the day.
Visitors will also have the chance to get hands-on in the Mela Marquee, with interactive Dhol Drumming and Bollywood Dance workshops.
Coun Katie Collier, vice chair of Worcester City Council’s communities committee said: “The Worcester Show is always a highlight of the summer – a celebration of our city’s culture, creativity and community spirit.
“With the support of partners like BBC Hereford and Worcester and the return of the fantastic Worcester Mela, we’re proud to offer a day that truly has something for everyone.”
