SPOOKTASTIC after-dark tours are being held at The Commandery in Worcester this Halloween.
The guided tours, with a paranormal twist, will include the spookiest takes about the historic building and the surrounding city.
Visitors can venture through the wood-panelled corridors and into parts of the building which are off the usual visitor path, while hearing tales of wartime historic happenings, and mysterious footsteps and strange sightings reported by visitors, staff, and volunteers over the years. There will also be some new stories which will be shared this year for the first time.
Once a monastic hospital built on the site of a Saxon chapel, and later Royalist headquarters in the Battle of Worcester, the final battle of the English Civil War in 1651, The Commandery has a long and fascinating history with plenty of tales to tell.
Tours take place at 6.30pm and 8pm on Tuesday October 14, Thursday October 16, Tuesday October 21, Thursday October 23, Tuesday October 28, and Thursday October 30. On Halloween night, Friday October 31, there is an additional late-night tour for extra spookiness at 9.30pm.
