TENNIS enthusiasts across Worcestershire have been invited to take part in a charity tournament to help people with brain injuries.

Taking place at Hallow Tennis Club on Sunday, April 24, from 10am to 4pm, Headway Worcestershire’s first American Doubles Tennis Tournament fundraiser will see people aged 16 and over, of any level, play mixed doubles games on the five outdoor courts with the best man and woman winning a prize.

With other family activities available, such as raffle tombola, ball throwing machine, face painting, food and refreshments, there will be something for everyone.

Alan Purchon, Chairman of the club, said: “Hallow Tennis is happy to be promoting the name of Headway Worcestershire and to be joining with them to further the cause of supporting people with an acquired brain injury.

“Headway Worcestershire provide very valuable support to people with a brain injury and their families and seek to educate all those involved to promote a better life after brain injury.”

Julia Protesaru, Fundraising Manager at Headway, said: “We are delighted to hold our event at the Hallow Tennis Club. They have been kind with our requests and we are impressed with the five courts and facilities they have to offer.

“If the competition is a success, we are hoping it will make it into our annual events calendar.”

Tickets cost £10 per participant and £3 admission, kids under 8 enter free. Partner entries into the tournament are preferred and any donations for the tombola will be kindly received.
