A TEENAGER was left with facial injuries after an unprovoked attack in broad daylight.

The 16-year-old boy was walking along Tolladine Road yesterday (Thursday) between 3.45pm and 3.55pm and was approached by a man at the junction with Bradfords Building Supplies.

The man then assaulted the victim causing injuries to his face.

Police have described him as white, about 5ft 8 ins tall with a tanned complexion. He had curly brown hair and was wearing a green parker style coat with the hood up. The hood had a light coloured fur lining.

After the assault the man ran off towards Lowesmoor.

A number of cars were travelling along the road at the time of the assault and investigating officers are eager to hear from any of the drivers or passengers that may have witnessed the assault or see a person matching the offender’s description in the area.
