Taking UKIP agenda door to door

Worcester Editorial 2nd Jun, 2017   0

UKIP’s Paul Hickling was joined by a familiar face on the campaign trail and launched an outspoken attack on the Government’s handling of the threat posed by ISIS.

Mr Hickling was joined by James Goad, who fought the seat for the party in the 2015 election and the pair were ‘warmly received’ on the doorstep in Gorse Hill.

“Most people said they had never met a candidate from any political party even though they had lived in the area for 15 years,” he said.

Mr Hickling rounded on the Government’s handing of the terrorist threat posed by ISIS after last week’s horrific events in Manchester.

“How many more Cobra meetings does the government need to have before they decide to take action,” he said.

“I’ve had enough of us being the victim and offering total surrender in the face of what is in all but name a war on our people, culture and nation.

“Some initial steps to take….firstly no more illegal immigrants under the guise of refugees….extreme vetting before anyone is allowed in.

“Radicalisation or any form of encouragement to attack our culture, institutions or people to be severely dealt with,” he said.

“How many more atrocities must we suffer before we routinely tag suspects and stop putting their human rights above our safety or the victims?

“How many more returning jihadis and their brainwashed wives must we welcome home to walk our streets freely?

“Round up the 3,000 on the suspect list and takeaway their passports so they can’t travel.

“Re-vet them and bring charges against any that went to fight for ISIS. I don’t think the mainstream Muslim population would have a problem with this,” he added.
