Take off for play area

Worcester Editorial 30th Aug, 2018   0

MAYOR of Worcester Coun Jabba Riaz was on hand to cut the ribbon on the latest city play area to be revamped as part of a £220,000 investment by city council chiefs.

The Bilford Road play area has been given a new lease of life with new equipment reflecting Perdiswell Park’s former usage as a temporary aerodrome during the Second World War.

The centrepiece for the new playground is an elaborate piece of climbing equipment, designed to look like a Spitfire.

Situated next to Perdiswell Leisure Centre, the new play area also includes swings, roundabouts, slides and smaller climbing equipment – all surrounded by soft-fall surfacing.

“I am sure that this new-look play area will really capture children’s imagination. I hope they will have hours of fun there for years to come,” Coun Riaz said.
