A TOUR of the newly-completed walking trail of the timber framed buildings of Worcester inspired by the life and works of Freddie and Mary Charles is being held by members of the city’s Civic Society.
The Charles practice specialised in timber-farmed conservation and innovative repair and their archive has recently been the subject of a Historic England funded project, led by Worcestershire Archive and Archaeology Service to better understand and digitise its content.
The walking tour led by Sheena Payne-Lunn, Worcester City Historic Environment Record Officer, will highlight a number of buildings around the city centre represented within the collection, their stories and in some cases, their demise.
Departing from outside the Guildhall, the walk will commence at 2pm on Sunday (April 14) and will last approximately one hour.
Walking the trail with Sheena is free
