A BRAIN injury charity is asking residents to show their support whilst taking part in the Worcester City 10k.
Headway Worcestershire is hoping participants will spread awareness by wearing the charity’s t-shirt or by raising funds.
The event, held on Sunday (September 18) will see participants running past such iconic sights as Worcester Cathedral, the viaduct and the River Severn.
A volunteer at the charity’s day centre, Debbie, will be walking the 10k, two years after suffering from a brain aneurism.
Julia Protesaru, fundraising and marketing manager, said: “This will be Debbie’s first race since acquiring her brain injury in July 2014.
“She now volunteers in the day centre giving back a bit to those who have helped her recovery since.”
Julia said participants can contribute to the cost of the t-shirt by making a small donation to Headway Worcestershire on the website.
