THE COUNTY’S library service is launching a collaborative programme of events to help students reach their academic goals whilst maintaining well-being during exam season.
Study Happy is a partnership between Worcestershire County Council’s Library Service and The University of Worcester to host events promoting self-care during a stressful time for spupils.
The scheme will see GCSE, A level, and university students access activities in libraries across Worcestershire including meeting with support dogs, book bingo, lego building, mindfullness colouring and mindful mini games.
Students will also be provided with free study spaces, computers, resources, and WiFi alongside research, referencing, and information gathering help from the University of Worcester.
Councillor Karen May, cabinet member for communities at Worcestershire County Council, said: “Whilst you are studying, we understand that it can be stressful and overwhelming, and our libraries are there.
“The partnership supports academic success and also encourages overall wellness.
“We believe that by working together, and giving students access to the resources they need to study, we can help students achieve their full potential and succeed academically.”
The Study Happy programme is open to all students across the county and is completely free of charge.
Judith Keene, director of library and professional administrative services at the University of Worcester, added: “The University’s Study Happy programme has had a positive impact on students using The Hive for a number of years.
“We are delighted to be partnering with Worcestershire Libraries to extend its support to students more widely across the county.”
