ST RICHARDS Hospice is inviting people to see Waddle for Worcester’s penguins one last time after the huddle leaves the city on September, 15.
All 80 sculptures will go on show at Worcestershire County Cricket Club from October 4 – 6 and October 11 – 13.
This will be the last chance to see the 40 large penguins before they are auctioned to raise cash for the hospice.
One chick in Piston Distillery at Diglis Waterside and Marina, Ice-Ickle, will also be auctioned – while the others will be returned to the schools and groups which decorated them.
Grace Stringer, managing director of Piston Distillery, which is sponsoring the farewell events, said: “The great Waddle of Worcester has been a wonderful way to get us all out and about this summer and has brought so much joy to trail-goers big and small.
“The farewell events are the perfect way to recapture some of that art trail magic and to support a charity which does so much for the community here in Worcestershire.
“We can’t wait to see to them all huddled together, including Ice-Ickle who we’ve loved looking after during the trail.”
Tickets are available for the farewell event with visitors being able to book a one hour slot.
