RESIDENTS at a Worcester care home have donned their aprons and baked a cake to celebrate The Queen’s official 90th birthday.

In preparation for Her Majesty’s milestone celebration on Saturday, June 11, a three tiered cake was recently mixed, baked and iced by residents at Sanctuary Care’s Regent Residential Care Home in St John’s.

The cake will be entered into the ‘Novelty 90th Birthday Cake Challenge’, run by Unilever Food Solutions and the National Activity Providers Association, for the chance to be featured in a nostalgic baking book.

Jemma Robinson, Regent Care home manger said: “Our residents absolutely loved taking part in this competition, especially when they knew the cake was for The Queen.

“They got so much pleasure from taking part and are thrilled with the finished product, which they will no doubt enjoy eating.”
