Spencer going solo with St George's Day concert in city

Worcester Editorial 13th Apr, 2019   0

AN EXCITING evening with the former lead singer of the now-retired Searchers will fill Huntingdon Hall in Worcester’s Crowngate in the latest St George’s Day concert from a city promoter.

Malvern-based promoter John Banner will welcome Spencer James for his first ever solo theatre show as part of his annual celebration of England’s patron saint next Tuesday (April 23) in a night of music and memories.

The popular Mersey band emerged in 1963 as part of the 60s Liverpool music scene along with the Beatles, The Mersey Beats and Gerry and the Pacemakers.

Second only to the iconic Beatles as Liverpool’s finest 60s group, The Searchers are legends from the era that transformed entertainment history forever.

With support from Sal Bateman and Amelia Davis and raising cash for Prostate Cancer UK and Breast Cancer UK, it’s a night not to be missed.

Tickets for the show are £15 each and available from the Huntingdon Hall Box Office on 01905 611427 or online at www.worcesterlive.co.uk

* The Observer has teamed up with John Banner Promotions to offer two pairs of tickets for the concert
