Sixties theme helps bring in the cash

CARING students at Bishop Perowne CE College raised a fantastic £818 for St Richard’s Hospice during the school’s annual fete in memory of a much-loved former teacher.

Students, teachers and parents honoured Julie Clements, who sadly passed away earlier this year, at the fete which had an ‘All things 60s’ theme.

Visitors were able to enjoy a wide range of stalls including games, food, competitions, ice-creams, sports and live music, all organised by the school’s Year 10 student leadership team.

Headteacher Mark Pollard said: “As well as a way for our students to celebrate all their successes over the past school year, this year’s fete gave everyone the chance to come together to honour Mrs Clements’ memory.

“We know she would have been extremely proud of the amount of money raised by the students and would have thoroughly enjoyed the event.

“Well done to our Year 10 Student Leadership Team for arranging the activities and we hope all our students have a great summer and return in September refreshed and ready for another fantastic year.”

St Richard’s Hospice cares for patients and families in Worcestershire who are living with life-limiting illnesses.

Each year it gives free care and support to around 3,000 patients, loved ones and the bereaved, ensuring they receive the best quality of life possible.
