Singing pupils spread festive cheer

YOUNGSTERS from a Worcester primary school spread the spirit of Christmas at a city care home with the sound of festive carols.

The angelic voices of children from St Clement’s CE Primary School brought festive cheer to residents at Sanctuary Care’s Regent Residential Care Home, on Monday (December 12).

The choir of seven to 11-year-olds sang a range of carols including Walking in the Air, Rudolph Rumpus and African Noel, before tucking into cakes and mince pies with the residents and team at the St John’s home.

Following the performance, 88-year-old Doreen Neal, said: “It was just wonderful to hear the children sing as they sounded lovely.”

Fellow resident, 94-year-old Auriol Packington, added: “There was such a great variety of songs and it was so enjoyable and lovely to see the children sing and move along to the words.”

Denise Clark, manager at the care home, said: “Our residents love to hear the sound of children singing at Christmas. There is no better way to get everyone into the festive mood.”
