NEW independent bookshop and cafe Script Haven will be holding a series of immersive British Sign Language Sessions from Saturday to raise funds in memory of a store regular’s guide dog.
The first session will run at the shop between 2pm and 3pm, with three more scheduled at the same time on October 15 and 28 as well as November 18.
All the cash raised goes into Casa’s Tribute Fund, which was set up by city woman Susannah Barnett, in memory of her previous assistance dog.
Guide Dog Casa passed away peacefully last June and the fund in her memory sees all cash goes to Guide Dogs to fund other assistance puppies to help those who need them.
The Script Haven BSL sessions will be open to beginners and those with some knowledge, including children who want to learn.
All sessions are free but the store will be accepting donations for Casa’s tribute fund.
