A WORCESTER Post Office is set to undergo a modern revamp ready to welcome customers on an extra day of the week.

Plans revealed on Monday, July 4 mean the Post Office, located on London Road, will be open seven days a week, with extended opening hours and a range of Post Office services, all in a modern open-plan retail environment.

The opening hours, which will increase significantly, will ensure that the branch is more convenient for users with more time of times to visit on a Saturday afternoon and even Sunday.

The new-look London Road Post Office will offer residents and small business customers the option to access a wide range of Post Office and mails services, including Special Delivery, Local Collect, home shopping returns, online banking cash deposits and withdrawals.

Other services include withdrawals using a Post Office Card Account, sending funds abroad using Moneygram, and customers can also pay bills, pre-order travel money, apply for travel insurance and top up mobile phones.

Alan Ridoutt, Area Manager said: “We are making it easier for customers to get their cash, send and collect their mail and do their banking because we know how important these services are to local residents.

He added: “We are confident that this vibrant new-style Post Office at the heart of the local community will meet customer needs.

“This modernisation is part of a major investment programme, the largest in the history of the Post Office and will secure services for the future.”

London Road Post Office close at 5.30pm on Wednesday, July 20 for the refurbishment to take place.

During this short period of closure Post Office services may be accessed from any Post Office branch, including: Worcester Post Office, WH Smith, on High Street and Cherry Orchard Post Office, The Co-operative on Bath Road.
