DIGLIS residents are being urged to have their say on the changes made to the area in recent years and whether or not they would like a community centre.
The ward’s Labour councillors are carrying out a survey to see if the Diglis Dock development, known as Diglis Water, has lived up to expectations.
Original proposals for the area included a gym, cafes, restaurants and a community centre and while the gym has materialised there are no shops in the development.
Councillors Lynn Denham and Jabba Riaz, who represent the area, are conducting a survey to find out what Diglis Water residents think about where they live and if they would like to see a community centre developed.
The building shell was put in place but has never been fitted and a proposal to convert the community centre to three apartments in 2012 was subsequently withdrawn.
Coun Denham said: “Last year, a few new Diglis residents started a campaign to ‘save the community centre’.
“We were approached by a number of individuals and organisations who expressed an interest in using the community centre or making something happen there.
“We would like to know what local people think and if they would support the idea of a community centre.”
The doorstep survey has been delivered to residents on the Diglis Water development so far, but it is also available at www.worcesterlabour.org.uk/diglis_survey online.
