Remembering little ones lost

Worcester Editorial 15th Oct, 2020   0

A TOUCHING video for parents and grandparents who have experienced the devastating loss of a baby has been revealed by midwifery bereavement staff from Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust.

The video (above) features Bereavement Midwife Trudy Berlet and Chaplain David Southall and includes a poem and a musical reflection centred around an array of candles.

It was filmed against the backdrop of Worcestershire Royal Hospital which was lit up in pink and blue to mark Baby Loss Awareness Week.

Organiser Trudy Berlet said: “It’s really important to us families have a chance to mark their loss and remember in their own space.

“We really hope this video goes some small way to marking the occasion for those we have supported, and their babies, and reminds them that they are not far from our thoughts.”

Rev David Southall said: “In normal times we would come together as different families to mark the loss of our babies.

“It is a deep sadness to us in these strange times we can’t meet together in the same way. Trudy and I hope that in some small way this video marks a moment in the life of precious little ones and lets families know that they are not forgotten.”
