Recruitment firm GMP raises £10,000 for Worcester charity New Hope

A WORCESTER recruitment firm has raised £10,000 for local children’s and disabilities charity, New Hope.

The team from city centre-based GMP Recruitment, and the firm’s parent company The Jarell Group, raised the five-figure total through three of their staff taking part in the National Three Peaks Challenge which saw them scale the UK’s tallest mountains in just 24 hours.

GMP’s Mike Pincott, and colleagues James Cronin and Charlotte Harkin from The Jarell Group, took part in the notorious 23 walking mile challenge which covered Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon – with the trio smashing their original £3,000 fundraising target.

The cash total was helped along by a GMP charity auction held at Worcester’s Bottles Wine Bar and further auction and quiz nights held at city sports and music venue, The Feathers – hosted by Worcestershire manufacturing firm QM Systems, with the company also donating an additional £1,155.

Mike Pincott, director at GMP Recruitment said: “Anyone who has done the Three Peaks Challenge will know how gruelling it is both physically and mentally. However, we wanted to raise money for a charity which does so much for so many people and we are delighted to raise £10,000, well over our target.

“The money will go to New Hope to help them continue to provide the best specialist day care for children with disabilities and complex healthcare needs.

“We’re now having a well-deserved rest and soothing our aches and pains but being able to present a cheque to the New Hope team makes every second worthwhile. I must also give a huge thank you to the people and businesses who supported us along the way. Everyone has been amazing.”

The Worcester charity, based in the city’s Wells Road, is especially close to Mike’s heart as earlier this year his two-year-old daughter Ava was diagnosed with Angelman Syndrome – a genetic disorder which causes delayed development, problems with speech, balance and seizures.

Based in the city’s Copenhagen Street, GMP Recruitment was founded in 2019 and recruits for permanent and temporary roles with organisations across the industrial, legal, finance, logistics, office and hospitality sectors.

The company is part of workplace solutions specialist The Jarell Group which has offices in London, Birmingham, Leeds and Walsall.
