RAIL passengers are urged to allow extra time when using Worcester Foregate Street due to a subway closure.
West Midlands Railway is asking people to leave more time for changing platforms while the station’s subway is closed for four weeks.
Technicians from Network Rail are carrying out maintenance work, starting tomorrow (Monday). The underpass connecting the two platforms at the station will be closed for four weeks while the work takes place. Passengers will be required to take an alternative route between platforms during this time.
Passengers are encouraged to enter the station on the side of the platform they will be departing from. When changing platforms, they will need to exit the station, walk under the bridge and re-enter through the other entrance, with directional signage in place to help passengers navigate the station.
Jonny Wiseman, customer experience director at West Midlands Railway, said: “We thank our passengers for their patience while Network Rail carries out this routine maintenance work at Foregate Street. For those making a connection, your walking time to the opposite platform will be a few minutes longer than usual, so I recommend planning this into your journey time.”
