Queen under medical supervision as doctors 'concerned' for her health

BUCKINGHAM Palace has revealed doctors are ‘concerned’ for Her Majesty the Queen’s health and have recommended she remain under medical supervision.

The 96-year-old – the nation’s longest reigning monarch – has ongoing mobility issues which meant former Prime Minister Boris Johnson and newly-appointed PM Liz Truss made the journey to Balmoral on Tuesday (September 6) for an audience with the Queen.

Her Majesty was forced to cancel a meeting of the Privy Council yesterday (Wednesday) after being told to rest by her doctors.

In a statement, Buckingham Palace said: “Following further evaluation this morning, The Queen’s doctors are concerned for Her Majesty’s health and have recommended she remain under medical supervision.

“The Queen remains comfortable and at Balmoral.”

Clarence House has confirmed Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall have travelled to Balmoral to be with the Queen.

The Duke of Cambridge is also en-route to Balmoral following the news.

Princess Anne, the Princess Royal, is also understood to be at Balmoral while it’s thought Prince Andrew and the Earl and Countess of Wessex are making their way to Balmoral
