STAFF and punters at a Worcester pub have raised more than £7,000 for St Richard’s Hospice.
The Plumbers Arms, in Wyld’s Lane, presented a cheque for £7,183 to the hospice, which cares for adults with serious, progressive illnesses.
The sum was raised over 14 months, through a variety of events including a quiz, tombola, charity darts night and curry night.
Landlady Christine Williams, said: “This amount could not have been raised if it was not for the continuous support and generosity of the locals – who have not only bought raffle tickets for the many hamper and meat raffles, but have also sponsored these events.
“There have also been personal donations from certain individuals and Greene King kindly donated a wheelbarrow full of spirits and ales which was kindly organised by Mark Henfield.
Mrs Williams also thanked Patricia Butler for her tireless work in helping reach the final total.
