Popular preschool appeals for help with costs as it closes down

Worcester Editorial 28th Aug, 2023   0

A HUGELY popular preschool will be closing its doors after 40 years at the end of the month- and a fund-raiser has been set up to help pay its hardworking staff amid significant shutting down costs.

Chatterbox preschool in Fernhill Heath made the short-notice decision not to open in September at an extraordinary general meeting in August.

They have spent the past few weeks selling off resources at closing down sales.

The decision to shut down has resulted in ‘significant closing costs’ for the village preschool.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help raise enough cash to cover some of these costs, including payments to staff, many of whom have been with the preschool for years.

Chatterbox employed seven childcare staff members at the time it had announced its closure.

So far, over £200 of the £15,000 target has been raised.

A preschool spokesperson said: “We would like to thank everyone for their continued support over the past 40 years.

“It is a sad day for Chatterbox, for our village and for all staff past and present who have worked tirelessly to look after our children.”
