A STUNNING celebration garden remembering the lives of lost loved ones was one of the highlights of the Worcester Festival’s opening weekend.
The celebration garden at St Andrew’s Spire, which will remain open until August 28, has hundreds of specially designed metal sunflowers each dedicated to a loved one.
People were able to order their sunflowers online with all the cash going to St Richard’s Hospice.
The hospice cares for adults with a serious progressive illness and their loved ones from diagnosis, during treatment and to their last days.
Cash raised will be spent on counselling support, social workers and practical and emotional support to families facing or going through the loss of a loved one.
Each one has been crafted by craftsman Ed Alvis of Metal Art UK.
The garden is part of the Worcester Festival, which got under way on August 11 and runs over three weeks.
Events and activities celebrate Worcester, the county and its people and are organised by both the festival and people and organisations.
