PERSHORE Tennis Centre hosted the Hereford and Worcester winter walking tournament on its indoor courts.

A total of 18 players from Pershore, Droitwich, Bromsgrove and Boughton Tennis clubs came together for a great afternoon of play.

By the end, Steve and Jane from Boughton came out on top.

Neil Bates, from Herefordshire and Worcestershire Lawn Tennis Association (LTA), said: “I’ve had some great messages from the players who absolutely loved it.”

Walking Tennis is a slower version of the game where the ball is allowed to bounce twice to enable players to get around the court easier.

It is one of the fastest growing parts of the sport and ideal for players who need a less intense version of the sport for their own personal reasons.
