A PERSON has died following an ‘serious incident’ which closed the M5 in south Worcestershire this morning (Wednesday).
Emergency services were called to the scene at junction six of the M5, near Worcester, at about 9.39am.
Diversions were put in place on both the northbound and southbound carriageways to take traffic away from the scene.
West Midlands Ambulance Service were called following concerns for the welfare of an individual at junction six.
Two ambulances and a paramedic officer were sent to the scene.
“On arrival, we discovered one patient in a critical condition,” the statement read.
“Unfortunately, it immediately became clear that nothing could be done to save the patient and they were confirmed dead at the scene.”
