Pensioner dies following A4440 collision

A 70-YEAR-OLD man has died following a fatal collision on the A4440 close to the junction of Swinesherd Way.

Police have launched an appeal for information after the collision which saw a red Ford collide with Mercedes HGV coming in the opposite direction from Spetchley at 11.48am today (Tuesday).

The Ford driver received treatment from the ambulance services and was later taken to the Worcestershire Royal Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the HGV was uninjured and the victim’s next of kin and the coroner have both been informed.




Officers would like to speak to anyone who saw the incident or who saw the vehicle and the manner in which it was being driven prior to the collision.
