THE Palestinian Ambassador to the UK will be visiting Worcester today to talk about the current situation in the Middle East.
Manuel Hassassian will be speaking at a public meeting, organised by Worcester Palestine Friendship, from 7pm at St George’s Catholic Church Parish Hall.
The Ambassador worked at Bethlehem University for 25 years as Professor of Political Science and for a number of years he was also Executive Vice President.
He also served as the President of the Rectors’ Conference of the Palestinian Ministry of Higher Education and President of the Palestinian-European-American Cooperation in Education (PEACE) programme.
As well as academic awards, he has published over 100 reviews, articles and chapters, including Palestinian Political Culture, Civic Society and the Concept of Citizenship, The Transformation of Palestinian Civil Society and its Role in Developing Democratic Trends in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
