Novelty dog show for the RSPCA

Worcester Editorial 7th Jul, 2018   0

THE RSPCA’s centre for mid-Worcestershire branch in Kempsey will be holding a novelty dog show next Sunday, July 15.

There will be 12 classes, including best rescue dog, best veteran over seven years, bad hair day and the dog most like its owner, with prizes and rosettes awarded to fourth place in each class.

There will be lots of stalls, refreshments, a barbecue, raffle, bric-a-brac, lucky dip, tombola, ice cream and much more.

Antiques expert Henry Sandon will also be there to value pottery and porcelain for £2 per item.

The RSPCA centre covers all of Worcestershire. The five-acre site opened in in October 2016 and as well as caring for dogs it also features a state-of-the-art cattery and new rabbit house.

The centre’s dog isolation unit is nearing completion and once they have raised enough funds they can start on the final phase – the reception building, with veterinary room and grooming room and the kennel block to provide 20 large dog kennels with runs and exercise areas.

On the day, doors open at 10.30am with judging for the novelty dog show from 11am.

The RSPCA centre is at The Holdings, Holdings Lane, Broomhall, Kempsey, WR5 3FP
