Nightclub manager slapped with two-week driving ban

THE GENERAL manager of a city centre nightclub has been slapped with a two week driving ban after he was caught travelling double the speed limit in a 30mph zone.

Nathan Tinker, who works for Tramps Nightclub, was seen behind the wheel of his BMW 520 on Bromyard Road at 2.55am on May 1 when police clocked him speeding between 55 and 60 miles per hour.

The 31-year-old, of Fernywood Close, appeared at Worcester Magistrates Court last Friday (January 9) when he pleaded guilty to the charge and was handed a £300 fine along with his disqualification.

Tinker, who was not represented, told the court how he was held up after work as he had to assist police with an incident which had occurred across from the Angel Place venue.

The court was also told how Tinker had made arrangements to get his fiancee, a care worker, home for her to get a taxi to go to the airport.

“We had an incident across from the venue and I was assisting the police with that incident and following that I was further delayed helping them with CCTV,” Tinker said.

“I was then running late and this put me under a great deal of stress and pressure and unaware of the police car following me.

“I am not justifying what I did, I admitted my guilt and apologise for what I did. I would like to apologise for being here today and accept I was wrong.”

Tinker was also ordered to pay £85 court costs and a victim surcharge of £30.
