A night at the movies for charities

Worcester Editorial 2nd Apr, 2016 Updated: 19th Oct, 2016   0

FROM the stage and screen to Worcester, the city’s Mayor is hosting a night at the movies at the Guildhall.

Songs from hit films and stage productions will be performed by Worcester Concert Brass at the event on Friday, April 8.

The money raised from the event will be going to the Mayor’s three charities: Sight Concern, Acorn’s Children’s Hospice and the Daisychain Benevolent Fund.

Mayor of Worcester, Coun Roger Knight, said: “Worcester Concert Brass is a superb ensemble, and I’m really looking forward to hosting what I know will be a knock-out evening.

“As well as having the pleasure of listening to some classics for film and stage, it’s good to know that all proceeds from the ticket sales will be donated to three very worthwhile local charities.”

Tickets are £8 each, including a glass of wine or soft drink, and can be bought either in advance or on the door.

They can be purchased in advance from the Tourist Information Centre on the High Street next to the Guildhall, or by calling 07795 297554.
